So, how did Cody stall them? This is one of the side-stories. Basically he was on his way to Yoru's and saw Yoru and Hitomi driving up ahead of him so Cody sped up, swerved into Yoru's lane, and caused them to veer off onto the shoulder. Obviously, this shook Yoru and Hitomi up and gave the Serks more time. (Way to go Cody!) 
That's the only thing I could think of to say.
